The River Remembers is a 3D digital artwork inspired by Birmingham's fountain sculpture ‘The River’. The work reimagines the fountain as a vessel of collective memory, where moments of everyday life briefly surface before fading again.
Glowing points of light shimmer across the water’s surface, evoking both constellations and fleeting reflections - blurring the boundary between reality and illusion. Echoes of human presence, leaving imprints beyond time. Lotus flowers float within the pool, referencing T.S. Eliot's Burnt Norton, whose text encircles the fountain.
Created using Unreal Engine, Blender and Photoshop, the piece combines cinematic lighting and flowing water to explore memory, illusion, and the poetic instability of time.
